Of Polish origin, Moszkowski was a celebrated pianist and teacher during the last 20 years of the 19th century. Although he composed a number of large-scale works, it was his lighter music which was particularly successful in his lifetime. Paderewski said of him that his piano music embraced the whole gamut of piano technique and that his works were perfect from a pianistic and pedagogic point of view. Some of the few easy pieces he wrote are included in this album.
