Trio #6 (Opus 83). By: Hook. Arr: Gee. Flute Trio.
Originally written by English organist/composer James Hook (1746-1827) and adapted here by Harry Gee, this trio is a stellar example of classical music at its best. The opening Andante is 25 measures of flowing lyricism in 3/4 time, which contrasts beautifully with the spirited Rondo Allegretto in 2/4 that accounts for the remaining seventy bars. This work is ideal contest and recital literature.
