Johann Christian Bach's' Concerto in C minor has become one of the most popular viola repertory pieces. The piece is however not by J.C. Bach at all, but rather a well-intentioned fabrication of the Casedesus brothers Henri and Marius. Henri Casadesus was an outstanding violist and presented this concerto in 1916 as a new discovery by J.C. Bach. It was subsequently revealed to be an invention of Casadesus himself, 'inspired' by J.C. Bach sources. This Edition Peters publication contains a piano reduction and offers the possibility of performance by viola, cello or violin, containing separate parts for these instruments.
