These pieces are chamber music but with larger forces on each part: there are no extended solos, any virtuosity is (usually) expressed by the whole group. They seem to have been a natural place for the development of Vivaldi s ideas. This concerto is like an experiment in minimalism and simplicity - two striking ideas that are finely balanced in the first movement that is hugely enjoyable to play.PAR0427 is an appropriate substitute for DOL0338.
