Waiting for You [CF:712-40913]

Craig Cassils has written an anthem that invites us to spend the time of Advent preparing our lives for the Christ Child. Opening with a unison statement of the melody, the anthem moves to a lovely fo ur-part harmonization of the now familiar melody. Creatively playing on the word "waiting," Craig uses descending quarter-note phrases moving between the alto and tenor sections in the B section to em phasize the text. An interchange between the men's and women's voices takes us to the strong ending. Appropriate for Advent I-IV.
